This notice explains how personal information collected through this website is used. It covers the website only. How your information is handled if you go on to have therapy is explained separately at your first appointment.
Who we are
This website is run by Dr Jane Bewley, trading as Therapy for Health, Technology House, Skull House Ln, Appley Bridge, Wigan, WN6 9DL. Dr Bewley is the data controller for information collected through this site and is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

The contact form
If you use the contact form we collect your name, email address, phone number (if you give it), subject and message. This is used only to reply to your enquiry and, if you wish, to arrange an initial consultation.
The form is delivered to our inbox by a form-handling service, Web3Forms. Please keep your message brief. There is no need to include detailed health information; this can be discussed in a confidential conversation.
We rely on your request to contact us (taking steps at your request before providing a service) as the lawful basis for using this information. Any health information you choose to share is handled in line with the confidentiality standards that apply to health care professionals. Enquiries are kept only as long as needed to deal with them.
Cookies and analytics
This site does not set any cookies unless you choose to accept analytics cookies.
If you click Accept on the cookie banner, we use:
- Google Analytics, to count visits and see which pages are useful. It sets cookies beginning
_ga. - Microsoft Clarity, to understand how pages are used (for example, where people click and scroll). It sets cookies such as
_clckand_clsk. Clarity is set to hide text you type into forms.
If you click Reject, neither tool is loaded. Your choice is saved in your browser so you are not asked on every page. You can change your mind at any time using the link at the bottom of every page.
Map on the location page
The Google Map on the location page only loads if you click Show map. Google may then set its own cookies under Google's privacy policy.
Hosting
The website is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical information such as IP addresses to deliver the site securely and protect it from attack. Cloudflare Web Analytics also counts page visits without using cookies or identifying you.
Where information is processed
Some of the services above may process information outside the UK. Where they do, they are required to use appropriate safeguards under UK data protection law.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, and to ask for it to be corrected or deleted. You can also object to how it is used. To make a request, use the contact details above.
If you are unhappy with how your information has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
